Australian Fees - Credit Card Payments
Paymate allows clients to share the fees between the buyer and seller. Sellers can also opt to absorb the buyer fees.
The tables below show the buyer and seller fees separately. When you make a payment, Paymate calculates the fees and GST on the fees automatically for you.
The Monthly Fees on Subscription Account provides a 'volume discount' for prepayment; the monthly fees are 1.5% (+ GST) of the Prepaid Amount. E.g. on an Economy Account, you prepay $3.30 per month for a Prepaid Amount of $200; you will pay no additional fees until you receive MORE than $200 in a month, when a discounted rate of 2.2% will apply. Regular sellers can select a Subscription Account to match their expected monthly payments. You can upgrade your account at any time by logging into you Paymate account.

Please note:
- Payments for sales on eBay.com and ebay.com.au incur an additional flat fee of $0.50 per payment.
- Acceptance of foreign currency credit card payments incurs an additional 1.5% seller’s fee.
- Paymate fees charged to an Australian buyer or seller are subject to 10% GST charge ON THE FEE ONLY.

Buyer fees are NIL for payments made via Checkout only on www.ebay.com and www.ebay.com.au.

Minimum and Maximum Payment Amounts
The minimum payment amount a Sender can make in a single Payment transaction via Paymate is $1, and the maximum is AU$9,999 or equivalent foreign currency.
Fees on Refunds
Note that we cannot refund fees on payments that are refunded to the buyer at the request of the buyer or the seller, since all costs have generally been incurred in processing the payment.
In the case of foreign currency payments, the amount of any refund will generally differ from the amount of the original payment. This is because the foreign exchange conversion rate applied changes constantly and hence the rate applied at the time of a refund will generally be different to the rate applied at the time of the original payment.
