Follow the steps below to get started with Paymate OnTheGo

You will need to create a Paymate account, enter the details of the bank account you want to get paid into, and apply for Paymate OnTheGo.

At the end of the process, one of our Customer Service agents will assess your application. If you have applied during our Customer Service hours (Monday to Sunday, 9am - 5pm AEDT) you will receive an email response the next business day.

Please note that Paymate OnTheGo is only available in Australia.

Register Now

1. Create your Paymate Account

Click on the register now button above or at the bottom of this page, fill in all required fields and nominate your user name and password.

You will then receive an email confirming your registration.

Please note that our ID verification process does not allow PO boxes to be used.

2. Complete your Paymate Account

Click on the "Login" button. Use the username and password that you created in the previous step to login to your account.

You will then be presented with this screen. You must complete all steps. After you complete a section click the "Home" tab to get to the next section.

Refer to the next steps for the details of the various sections.

3. Provide your bank account details

Go to www.paymate.com and login to your newly created account.
Click the "MyAccount" tab and then click the "Financial Details"
link and "Add" a bank account to your Paymate account.

Remember that a Paymate account does not carry a balance,
all the money from your sales is credited directly into your bank
account with no action required from you.

Fill in your bank account details and Save.

4. Provide your merchant details

Click the "Merchant Details" tab to fill in your business information -
edit the following sections:

  • Owner List
  • Company Details
  • Product/Service Details

Note that you must fill in ALL FIELDS. In the "Company Details" section you will be asked to provide your website url. If you do not have a website, simply enter www.paymate.com.

Once you are done, click on "Submit".

5. Apply for Paymate OnTheGo

Click on the Services tab. Select "APPLY" in the Paymate OnTheGo section. This will launch the Paymate OnTheGo application form.

Fill in the application form

You will need to provide details from 2 forms of ID:
Your Drivers Licence, Medicare Card, Passport or Birth Certificate.

Once you are done, click on "Submit".

6. Approval Process

One of our Customer Service agents will then assess your application.
If you have applied during our Customer Service hours (Monday to Sunday, 9am - 5pm AEDT) you will receive an email response the next business day.

7. Download the app to your mobile device

Once you have been approved for Paymate OnTheGo, we will send
you a welcome email with instructions on how to download the app
to your mobile phone from the appropriate app store: Apple® app
store and Google Play®.

8. Receive your swiper

Your swiper will be sent to you via Australia Post and your nominated bank account will be debited for the cost of the swiper (AU$19.95 including GST).

Congratulations, you can now begin using Paymate OnTheGo and getting paid straight into your bank account. Once you receive the swiper you can begin swiping payments, however in the meantime you can manually enter the details straight into the app on your phone.
