Before You Begin

Follow the steps below to get started using Paymate

1. Before you begin

Please note: There are Establishment Fees associated with successful Australian applications, payable on approval.

You will need the information below to complete the registration form. Make sure that you have this available before you start registering:

Business details, including

  • Owners details (if you are not the owner)
  • Business Registered & Trading name
  • ABN / ACN (if applicable)
  • Address and contact details. Please note: PO Boxes are not acceptable

Other information you will need is:

  • Bank account information, where we will pay you
  • Website details (for online payments)

For Paymate OnTheGo you will also need two of:

  • Current Passport
  • Australian Drivers License
  • Medicare Card details

2. Create your Paymate Account

Click on the Register Now button above or at the bottom of this page, fill in all required fields and nominate your user name and password.

You will then receive an email confirming your registration.

Please note: that our ID verification process does not allow PO Boxes to be used.

3. Next Steps

Once your registration has been assessed by our customer service staff we will be in touch with the outcome. Your registration will be assessed:

  • within 48 business hours for New Zealand accounts
  • within 24 business hours for Paymate OnTheGo accounts
  • when you receive your first payment for Australian Online

If you you have applied for an Australian Paymate account (Online or Paymate OnTheGo mobile) once your account is Provisionally approved you will be debited any associated Establishment Fees. Refer to Australian Seller Fees for more information.

One of our Customer Service agents will contact you with the outcome of the assessment and to outline the next steps. For Australian Paymate Accounts this may involve delievery of the Paymate OnTheGo Card Reader and a visit from one of our technicians.

Remember that a Paymate account does not carry a balance, all the money from your sales is credited directly into your bank account with no action required from you.
